The Best Days and Times to Check for New Job Postings
When you’re looking for a job, catching a new job posting as soon as it goes up is only to your benefit. There are a couple days and time periods you should be ready for.
If you can get your application in for a job early enough, you might have a greater chance of getting noticed and making the first wave of interviews. Miss that first wave, and landing the gig can be a lot tougher.
- Sunday is the best day to look for new postings. Hiring managers likely use Sundays to catch up on work after the weekend.
- The biggest concentration of job postings appear around 11 am, followed by the afternoon slump around 4 pm (local time of the employer).
Other days that can still be good to keep your eyes peeled on are Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 am and 4 pm, but they aren’t as concentrated as Tuesdays. Ternynch does note, however, that having a connection is likely the best way to land a job, but it still doesn’t hurt to get your application in as soon as possible. Keep checking early in the week during those morning and afternoon slumps.
